  • The effectiveness of UV radiation lamps to reduce fungal contamination of HEPA filters is experimentally studied by means of a dedicated air conditioning unit.
The obtained results demonstrate that for disinfection purpose the direct irra-diation of the HEPA filters by UV-C provides better results than irradiation of the air stream and the effectiveness increases with lower relative humidity of the air. Furthermore the survival curves of the tested micetes show typical tail shape (two steps survival curve).
