Investigation of Indoor Air Quality, Mould Growth and Moisture Problems in Primary Schools
A range of indoor air quality (IAQ) parameters and moisture measurements, and surface and airborne mould and bacteria where measured during both summer and winter in a number of Perth Primary Schools. Health assessment included a simultaneously health diary, skin prick tests and rhinometry testing where conducted by Princess Margaret Children’s Hospital. The schools were selected to show differences between “normal” construction and “low allergy” construction types. A correlation between Aspergillus, Alternaria and rhinometry data where found indicating a potential contributing exposure for childhood asthma.
